An ongoing part of EcoPaul is my assistance - prayer, writing, financial, Kyeyune family of KAMPALA, UGANDA. Margaret works for an AIDS organisation and is a widow with 4 children. There is also an extended family of about 10 orphans to care occasionally for in other houses. i cannot understand this mother's love for her children in that the EDUCATION of her 4 children is a very high priority. A shabby now half blown-off roof is yet another sacrifice for Margaret's children !!

The eldest two children attend university - Barbara doing Psychology and Brian Management Science. i would like to share some financial giving with others as my giving (about 1300 Australian dollars over the past 12 months), as well as my expectations on the household, is placing bigger emotional demands on me than expected. i often say that if we in the ??glorious?? West live on Earth, then the family i support lives on planet PLUTO.

i was talking to justice-inclined Sarah today about my studying a chapter (years ago) called THE GREEN REVOLUTION in a book called HOW THE OTHER HALF DIES by SUSAN GEORGE. i mentioned going to an OXFAM dinner where STEVE BRADBURY of www.Tear.org.au spoke of a very well-dressed man arriving by helicopter in simple NEPAL villages to recruit girls for prostitution way down (2000 miles?) in Bombay (Mumbai,India). YES, we have to accept alot of responsibility (or irresponsibility) for THIRD WORLD POVERTY.
